Soldiers assist An Giang farmers with flooded rice harvest
In An Giang Province, Vietnam, more than 30 soldiers from Battalion 519, Regiment 893, have been deployed to assist local farmers in harvesting rice amid heavy rainfall and flooding.
Persistent heavy rains have caused water levels to rise in the low-lying areas of Giang Thanh Commune, preventing combine harvesters from accessing approximately 50 hectares of summer-autumn rice crops. To mitigate potential losses, military personnel have been working manually in flooded fields to harvest, bundle, and transport ripe rice to safer locations. As of the latest report, the unit has successfully assisted in harvesting 1.2 hectares of flooded rice.
