Infrastructure and safety measures implemented in Mexico and Dominican Republic
In Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Mexico, authorities are managing risks from heavy rains. Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro has urged citizens to avoid the Río Santiago Boulevard due to water discharge from the San José Dam. Additionally, progress continues on the metropolitan paving of Avenida Camino al Ejido La Libertad, a coordinated effort between the municipal government and Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona to improve mobility and economic dynamism in the metropolitan area.
In the Dominican Republic, Fellito Suberví, director of the Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), has launched a sanitation project for eight ravines in Los Alcarrizos. The project, estimated at RD$1,160 million, aims to benefit over 72,000 residents through the installation of storm drains and sanitary sewage systems, alongside improvements to local infrastructure and housing.
