Municipalities implement urban sanitation and traffic enforcement measures
Various municipalities are implementing measures to manage urban sanitation, traffic, and public spaces.
In Ceuta, authorities have increased cleaning and waste collection resources by 70%, deploying over 750 people to address needs following a mass irregular entry of people through Tarajal. Similarly, Cartagena has moved up its 2026/2027 plot cleaning campaign to August to improve urban safety and hygiene.
In Mexico, Villa de Pozos is conducting surveillance to prevent vehicles from parking in bike lanes, resulting in approximately 10 infractions recently. In Coyoacán, the 'Chatarrización' program has carried out nearly 9,000 actions, including the removal of over 1,400 vehicles to recover public space. Meanwhile, residents in Chetumal have demanded the removal of over 30 impounded vehicles obstructing traffic.
In Argentina, the Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán has intensified sanctions against environmental offenders, seizing 25 vehicles in August for dumping waste in public areas.
