Soledad de Graciano Sánchez municipal officials receive training on vicarious violence

The municipal government of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez in San Luis Potosí held a conference titled “Violencia vicaria: comprenderla para prevenirla.” Human‑rights activist and lawyer Luz Arredondo led the workshop, explaining that vicarious violence involves harming a woman by using her children as a tool of control and punishment. Attendees – members of the municipal civil guard, the local DIF office, and other municipal staff – were briefed on recent legal adjustments in the state’s law and on protocols intended to improve protection and reporting for victims.

Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz and city officials highlighted the training as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public‑policy measures that safeguard women and children, noting the importance of early‑stage responders in identifying and addressing such abuse.
