Soledad de Graciano Sánchez secures federal partnership to combat extortion

Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz announced that the municipal government of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez has entered a collaboration with Mexico’s federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection. The partnership aims to strengthen operational strategies against extortion, following the enactment of the new General Law to Prevent, Investigate and Sanction Extortion Crimes. Federal anti‑kidnapping and extortion specialists provided two training sessions for the municipal Civil Guard and representatives from the commercial, private security and transport sectors, improving awareness of help lines and reporting procedures. The municipality will continue permanent training and expand preventive campaigns to schools, businesses and community organizations, with the goal of reducing extortion incidents and enhancing public safety.
