Soledad Municipal Civil Guard names eight-year-old honorary commander

Axel Fernando Reyes Hernández, an eight-year-old boy from Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, San Luis Potosí, was named an honorary commander of the Municipal Civil Guard for a day. The experience allowed the child to fulfill a long-held dream while undergoing medical treatment for Langerhans cell histiocytosis, a condition he has faced since age two.

During the event, Axel participated in civic ceremonies, including leading the roll call and participating in honors to the flag at the municipal headquarters. He was accompanied by local officials, including the president of the Municipal DIF, María del Pilar Cardona Reyna, and the director of Municipal Forces, Ulises López Rendón.

Axel received a full uniform, badge, and vest. He also toured the facilities, meeting with Commissioner Víctor Aristado Serna Piña and visiting the Information and Monitoring Systems Center (CESIM) to observe how officers respond to reports to protect the community. The event included participation from the ‘Pequeños Guardianes’ of the La Constancia neighborhood.
