Soledad Pastorutti reveals father's cognitive decline

Argentine singer Soledad Pastorutti has shared the emotional reality of her father Omar's declining health. During recent interviews, the artist revealed that her father has been experiencing a cognitive decline for approximately five years, reaching a point where he no longer recognizes her or his own identity.

To honor his influence on her life, Pastorutti dedicated a song titled ‘Mi refugio’ to him, which is featured on her new album, ‘Vale la pena’, celebrating 30 years of her musical career. She described the recording process as deeply difficult, noting that she had to record the track phrase by phrase because the emotional weight often left her unable to continue.

Pastorutti credited Omar as a fundamental figure in her professional beginnings. A mechanic by trade, he acted as her early manager, even purchasing her first 5,000 albums to ensure her record contract remained intact. She described him as the person who ‘gave me wings’ and provided the freedom to pursue her musical path.
