Soledad Pastorutti's 'Late el Sur' named official anthem for 2026 South American Games
The song “Late el Sur” has been selected as the official anthem for the XIII South American Games, to be held from 12 to 26 September 2026 in Santa Fe, Rosario and Rafaela, Argentina. The track will accompany the countdown, opening ceremonies and competitions, playing throughout the 15‑day event that will feature more than 4,000 athletes from 15 nations.
The anthem is performed by Argentine folk‑pop star Soledad Pastorutti, who co‑wrote the piece with songwriters Marcela Morelo and Claudia Brant. Production was handled by renowned music producer Rodolfo Lugo, whose credits include work with Mercedes Sosa, Juanes and other Latin‑American artists. Pastorutti described the collaboration as an accidental but inspired project, noting that the song aims to capture the daily effort, dreams and pride of the athletes and to symbolize the shared spirit of South America.
The organizers hope “Late el Sur” will become a unifying symbol for athletes, volunteers and spectators, expressing both regional identity and the passion that will drive the competitions across the three host cities.
