Brazil reports series of violent arson and domestic attacks

Several violent incidents involving fire and domestic disputes have been reported across Brazil.

In Soledade, a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly setting fire to the Hotel Planalto in a retaliation against his former partner. A 26-year-old hotel employee remains in serious condition in the ICU after inhaling smoke and suffering burns.

In Curitiba, a man was arrested after allegedly pouring alcohol on his partner, Cibele Lorena da Silva, and setting her on fire in Praça Rui Barbosa. The victim suffered burns to approximately 65% of her body and is in critical condition.

In Limoeiro, Pernambuco, a man was arrested in flagrante after an attack at a motel resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman and left another woman seriously injured. Authorities suspect the fire was set to destroy evidence.

In Engenheiro Coelho, São Paulo, a 29-year-old woman was arrested for child abandonment after leaving three children alone in a house with a lit candle. The house caught fire due to the lack of electricity, causing a 9-year-old girl to suffer burns and leaving two other children suffering from smoke inhalation.
