Solengepras meets primary endpoint in Phase 3 Parkinson’s disease trial

The Phase 3 ARISE trial has met its primary endpoint, demonstrating that the experimental oral medication solengepras (CVN424) significantly reduces ‘OFF time’ in patients with Parkinson’s disease experiencing motor fluctuations.

Results presented by Cerevance at the 2026 International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders in Seoul showed that a 150 mg once-daily dose reduced average daily OFF time by 1.56 hours from baseline, compared to 0.95 hours for the placebo group. The study also indicated improvements in motor and non-motor symptoms.

The international, randomized, double-blind trial involved 341 participants across the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and Australia. Researchers at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust were among the key investigators. The medication targets an overactive receptor in the brain believed to contribute to symptoms such as stiffness, tremors, and poor balance. Cerevance intends to discuss these findings with the FDA to determine future regulatory steps.
