Solibox wins top prize at Guinean POESAM awards
The 11th Guinean edition of the Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneuriat Social en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient (POESAM) has concluded, highlighting local innovation and social entrepreneurship. Twelve young finalists presented projects designed to address daily challenges within Guinea.
Fofana Foula, representing the Solibox project, secured the first prize, which was valued at 80 million Guinean francs. The Sensora project was awarded the women's prize, receiving 50 million Guinean francs. Other distinctions included a second prize of 60 million Guinean francs and a third prize of 45 million Guinean francs.
Philippe Guilavogui, Manager of the Orange Digital Center, stated that the initiative aims to boost youth creativity and encourage the development of local businesses that provide solutions to domestic problems. The competition also offers an international dimension, allowing top projects to compete against participants from other African countries.
