Solicitor Queen Appahoh denied removal of practice restrictions

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has refused to lift restrictions on the practising certificate of solicitor Queen Appahoh. The decision follows her previous suspension for what was described as “grossly negligent” conduct.

Appahoh, formerly a salaried partner at the South London firm Bilson Henaku, was involved in a case where $2.4 million was paid into escrow, of which approximately $2.2 million was lost through unauthorized transactions. While the tribunal noted her conduct was not deliberate, it maintained existing conditions on her practice.

These conditions prevent her from acting as a law firm manager or owner, holding a compliance officer role, or handling client money without approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Appahoh had argued that the restrictions were no longer justified and had created a “disproportionate impediment” to her ability to secure employment.
