Solid joins Snowflake-led OSI to standardize AI data context

Solid announced on 24 July 2026 that it is joining the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI), an open‑source, vendor‑neutral initiative led by Snowflake. OSI seeks to create a universal specification for semantic metadata that eliminates “semantic drift” across AI agents, analytics platforms, data warehouses and business‑intelligence tools.

The project brings together ecosystem partners such as Salesforce, dbt Labs, RelationalAI, BlackRock and others. Solid’s AI‑native context layer will help automate the creation, evaluation and maintenance of semantic context, enabling consistent business metrics across diverse environments without vendor lock‑in. “Our participation ensures semantic context can automatically move seamlessly across AI agents, data warehouses, BI tools, and analytics platforms—enabling organisations to build reliable AI systems on a shared, interoperable understanding of their business,” said Yoni Leitersdorf, CEO and Co‑Founder of Solid. Snowflake’s Josh Klahr added that OSI “provides the critical foundation for clarity, consistency and interoperability across the broader enterprise data ecosystem.”
