Regional social inclusion and vocational training programs expand in Spain and Chile
Various regional initiatives in Spain and Chile are focusing on social inclusion, vocational training, and community support.
In Spain, several programs aim to improve employability for vulnerable groups. In Granada, the Centro Albayzín is training eleven people with disabilities in artisanal ceramic glazing. In Almería, the University of Almería has launched its tenth edition of the UNIdiversidad program for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Additionally, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria concluded the ‘Segunda Oportunidad’ project, which provided training and work experience to 41 unemployed youths. In Ciudad Real, the ‘Semana de la Inclusión y la Solidaridad’ will promote diversity through various community activities, while the Fundación Globalcaja continues to support the Prado-Marianistas sports group. In Segovia, the local government and the Eusebio Sacristán Foundation have renewed their partnership to run an inclusive sports school.
In Chile, the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD) is celebrating ten years of its ‘Semana i’ academic program, which connects students with real-world organizational challenges. Meanwhile, the Professional Footballers' Union (Sifup) conducted visits to several clubs in the Valparaíso Region, including Everton and Santiago Wanderers, to discuss player benefits, legal tools, and mental health support.
