Solidarité Ahuntsic hosts school supply drive for hundreds of families

The Solidarité Ahuntsic community center hosted ‘Opération Sac à dos’ (OSAD) on August 17 to support families ahead of the new school year. Approximately 485 children were registered for the initiative, with an additional twenty people on a waiting list.

Participants were able to select backpacks, school supplies, books, lunch boxes, and clothing. Organizers emphasized the importance of allowing families to choose their own items to maintain dignity and avoid stigmatization. The event was supported by forty volunteers and included various community organization kiosks.
