Solidarités Festival sees record attendance amid logistical criticism

The 2026 edition of the Solidarités festival in Namur saw significant attendance and mixed feedback regarding logistics. The festival opened with a performance by Alma Laloy, a young musician supported by her father, renowned accordionist Didier Laloy, and her brother Nils on guitar.

While organizers reported a successful event, the festival faced criticism on social media concerning crowd management. On Saturday, a record-breaking 30,000 attendees gathered for performances, including a set by Soprano. This high volume led to complaints regarding long queues for parking, water fountains, and food trucks, as well as difficulties accessing the main stage. The influx of visitors, including approximately 9,000 children, has sparked debate over whether the festival should prioritize family-oriented programming or continue as a large-scale musical reference event.
