Solidarity efforts support children facing serious health challenges
In Chile, the family of 12-year-old Ilia Aedo Cárcamo has launched a solidarity campaign to support her medical treatment. After a brain tumor was detected via scan, Ilia has been hospitalized at the Hospital Base de Valdivia. Her family is seeking voluntary donations to cover travel, food, and lodging expenses as they await a vacancy to transfer her to the Hospital de Puerto Montt.
In Spain, more than 30 families with children suffering from rare diseases or pediatric oncology conditions participated in a solidarity camp at El Garañón, Gran Canaria. Organized by Canaryfly in collaboration with the association Kilómetros x Sonrisas, the event provided approximately 150 participants with recreational activities and a space for mutual support to offer a respite from medical routines and hospitalizations.
