Solidarity Foundation completes flood defense project in Tuban

The Solidarity Foundation for Development has completed a project to construct gabion defenses in the Tuban District to protect agricultural lands from floods. The project focuses on protecting the Lafih canal and the area of Abir al-Faqih by constructing defenses and cleaning flood channels to prevent soil erosion and property damage.

Implemented in partnership with Oxfam under the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) funding, the initiative utilizes a ‘cash-for-work’ mechanism. This approach provides temporary employment opportunities for the most vulnerable families in the region, supporting local livelihoods while rehabilitating community assets.

Local authorities, including the Director General of Tuban District, Engineer Houd Mohammed Saleh Bagazi, received the completed project and expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts between the foundation, international partners, and community committees.
