Solidigm considers building NAND memory factory in the United States

Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK Hynix, is reportedly considering the construction of a large-scale NAND flash memory manufacturing facility in the United States. The company is currently evaluating various locations, with New York being one of the potential sites under consideration.

Solidigm, which originated from Intel’s NAND and SSD business, currently relies heavily on its production facility in Dalian, China. Establishing a manufacturing presence in the U.S. would allow the company to diversify its geographic footprint, reduce dependence on Chinese production, and mitigate risks associated with trade tensions between Washington and Beijing.

Furthermore, a domestic facility would enable Solidigm to more efficiently supply storage equipment to major U.S. technology companies serving the growing AI data center market. While the company is exploring options to enhance its business competitiveness, it has stated that no final decision has been made regarding specific plans or timelines.
