Solin hosts 21st International Caricature Festival

The 21st International Caricature Festival took place in Solin from September 17 to 19, centered on the theme of ‘Black Humor’. The event attracted approximately 1,500 works from artists representing 58 countries across all continents.

Romania’s Dora Axinte was awarded the Grand Prix. Other top honors included second place for Colombia’s Fernando Pici and third place for Germany’s Peter Zimmer. Special awards were also granted to creators from Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Belgium, Canada, and Armenia.

Founded 21 years ago by caricaturist Marko Ivić, the festival is organized by the Solin Tourist Board in partnership with the Zvonimir Public Institution for Culture and the Solin City Library. The program included a central exhibition, a children’s exhibition, a stand-up program, and live portrait caricature sessions by artists Ivana Sabolić and Milan Lekić.
