Solingen's Ohligs citizen service office to close temporarily

The Bürgerbüro Ohligs in Solingen will be closed from Monday, October 5, through Saturday, October 10, 2026, due to current staffing shortages. The city stated that existing personnel capacities are insufficient to maintain service levels across all three citizen service locations simultaneously.

Scheduled appointments will be relocated to the Mitte and Höhscheid locations. Citizens with existing appointments in Ohligs will be notified via email regarding their new location. While identity cards and passports can be collected in Ohligs until Friday, October 2, documents processed during the closure will be available for pickup at the Bürgerbüro Höhscheid on Gasstraße 22.

The naturalization authority remains unaffected by this temporary closure and will continue to operate as planned. The Ohligs office is expected to resume regular operating hours on Monday, October 12, 2026.
