Solok City postpones RSBG 2026 event following Arosuka disaster

The Solok City Government has postponed the Rang Solok Baralek Gadang (RSBG) 2026 cultural event as a gesture of solidarity following the flash floods and disasters in the Arosuka area of Solok Regency. Originally scheduled to begin on October 3, 2026, the event has been rescheduled to take place from October 10 to 13, 2026.

The decision was reached through an agreement between the city government and local traditional leaders, including the heads of KAN, LKAAM, and Bundo Kanduang. The theme of the festival has also been updated to ‘RSBG—Bangkit Bersama dengan Arosuka’ (RSBG—Rising Together with Arosuka) to emphasize community support and brotherhood during this difficult time.

While the RSBG schedule has changed, the XVI West Sumatra Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) will proceed as planned from October 2 to 14, 2026. However, the opening ceremony for Porprov will be relocated to the West Sumatra Governor's Office. Solok City will remain the host for five specific sports branches: Taekwondo, Hapkido, Aerosport, Weightlifting, and Powerlifting.
