Solomon Agbasi leaves Hearts of Oak for Stellenbosch FC
Goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has departed the Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak to join South African side Stellenbosch FC. The 25-year-old's exit follows a failure to reach an agreement on a new contract during the transfer window, despite interest from Hearts of Oak in retaining him.
Agbasi, who previously played for Dreams FC, attracted interest from other domestic teams including Medeama SC, but ultimately chose to move abroad to South Africa. In a social media message, he expressed gratitude to the club’s staff, teammates, and supporters, stating he would cherish his time wearing the Phobia colours.
During his tenure with Hearts of Oak, Agbasi made 12 appearances, conceding five goals and recording nine clean sheets. His performances earned him a spot as a fourth-choice goalkeeper in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
