Solomon Beebe faces animal cruelty charges in Virginia

Solomon Beebe, an incoming football transfer to the University of Virginia, faces three Class 1 misdemeanor animal cruelty charges following alleged incidents in August.

Court records indicate the charges stem from an incident on August 10 and two additional incidents on August 12. A housekeeper at Beebe’s apartment complex north of Charlottesville reported witnessing Beebe hold his pit bull against a wall and punch it multiple times with a closed fist, noting the animal yelped in pain.

Albemarle County animal control officers seized the dog on August 13, and it is currently held in protective custody at the Albemarle County SPCA. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Pollock has filed a petition seeking formal custody of the animal. Beebe was taken into custody and subsequently released on an unsecured bond.
