Solomon Islands advances health and investment ties with India
Solomon Islands officials are advancing bilateral cooperation with India through health and investment initiatives in New Delhi.
A delegation from the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) met with Indian government ministries, hospitals, and pharmaceutical agencies to implement two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs). These agreements focus on health and medical care cooperation, as well as the recognition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia by the Solomon Islands. Discussions aimed to identify opportunities for technical cooperation, training, and capacity building.
Simultaneously, the Solomon Islands High Commission participated in the Annual Investment Session hosted by the Indian Oceania Business Association (IOBA). High Commissioner Anthony Makabo presented key investment priority sectors open to foreign direct investment (FDI) and outlined available incentives for prospective investors. The forum serves to strengthen commercial, trade, and cultural ties between India and the Pacific and Oceania region.
