Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea prepare for 2026 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup

The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea are preparing for the 2026 OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup in Tahiti.

The Solomon Islands, a historically dominant force in Oceanian beach soccer with four titles, aim to end a 13-year championship drought. Led by head coach and record goalscorer James Naka, the team seeks to reclaim its status after losing the last three tournament finals to Tahiti.

Papua New Guinea returns to the competition following its debut in 2024, where it secured a historic first international win against Fiji. Under coach Babob Labong, the team is focused on utilizing the tournament to further develop domestic league structures and the growing sport within the country.
