Solomon Islands officials complete public sector training in China
A delegation from the Solomon Islands Government has completed a three-and-a-half-week seminar on public affairs and capacity building in China. Hosted by the International Economic Cooperation Center (IECC) of Fujian Province from August 26 to September 19, the program was designed for officials from ministries involved in public service administration.
The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, including public administration, governance, policy development, social protection, employment, and public-sector reform. Participants also studied China’s digital economy, pension and medical insurance reforms, and labor policies. The seminar included classroom sessions alongside field visits to various companies, commercial sites, and heritage locations to provide practical insights into China’s economic development and social services.
During the closing ceremony, Solomon Islands Deputy Secretary for National Planning and Development Coordination, Roy Mae, expressed gratitude to the IECC and China’s Ministry of Commerce. IECC Director Wu Zibin reaffirmed the center’s commitment to supporting the Solomon Islands through ongoing people-to-people capacity-building initiatives.
