Solomon Odigie Moses sentenced to prison for sextortion in Abuja
A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced Solomon Odigie Moses, also known as Dr. Solomon, to one year in prison for fraud and sextortion. Moses was convicted after pleading guilty to charges of cheating and impersonating a spiritual leader.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Moses used a fictitious TikTok account to target Sharon Kaur, an Indian woman seeking spiritual assistance. He defrauded her of $1,100, which he laundered through the Zelle payment platform into a local bank account.
During the scheme, Moses deceived the victim into taking a naked spiritual bath, which he recorded live without her permission. He subsequently used the footage to blackmail her, threatening to release the video unless she paid more money. The court ordered that the $1,100 in criminal proceeds be forfeited to the victim through the EFCC. The judge also provided an option of a 300,000 Naira fine in lieu of imprisonment.
