Swiss police expand speed enforcement in Lucerne and Ticino
Police authorities in the Swiss cantons of Lucerne and Ticino have announced upcoming speed enforcement measures.
In Lucerne, the police have expanded their list of official semi-stationary radar locations. A new semi-stationary speed measurement system has been deployed on the A2 motorway near Buchs. This joins existing locations in Reussbühl, Luzern, and Schenkon.
In Ticino, the cantonal and municipal police will conduct mobile and semi-stationary speed checks during the week of September 28 to October 4, 2026. These operations will target the regions of Bellinzona, Locarno, Lugano, and Mendrisio. The initiative aims to prevent traffic accidents caused by excessive speed. While specific locations for mobile checks are listed across various districts, semi-stationary controls are scheduled for Avegno, Cadenazzo, Lodrino, and Novazzano.
