SOLOTÜRK performs F-16 rehearsal flights over Istanbul

The Turkish Air Force's aerobatic team, SOLOTÜRK, has begun conducting preparatory flights over Istanbul in anticipation of the 104th anniversary of Victory Day on August 30. The presence of F-16 fighter jets performing low-altitude maneuvers and high-performance turns caused significant public interest and brief concern regarding the source of the loud jet sounds.

Official authorities clarified that the flights are part of a planned schedule for the upcoming celebrations. The activities include reconnaissance flights and detailed rehearsals to prepare for the main aerial demonstration, which is scheduled to take place at Yenikapı Square on Sunday, August 30, at 18:00.

Pilots Lieutenant Colonel Murat Bakıcı and Major M. Erhan Aydemir have been involved in these maneuvers, which include high-performance turns and low-altitude transitions. Local residents and photographers have gathered to observe the rehearsals as the team prepares for the large-scale public event.
