Solstice CEO predicts cooling crypto volatility due to higher liquidity

Ben Nadareski, CEO of the Solana-based DeFi firm Solstice, suggests that the extreme boom-and-bust cycles characteristic of previous cryptocurrency markets are cooling. He argues that increased liquidity across major trading pairs and broader participation from institutional capital and household wealth are reducing the conditions that previously amplified sharp price dislocations.

Market data supports this shift in structure. A report from Glassnode and Fasanara Digital indicates that Bitcoin’s one-year realized volatility has decreased from 84.4% to 43%, a decline attributed to improved market depth and institutional involvement. Additionally, daily Bitcoin spot trading volumes have seen an upward shift, moving from a range of $4 billion to $13 billion per day to a higher range of $8 billion to $22 billion per day.

Looking forward, Nadareski projects significant growth for the stablecoin market on the Solana network, suggesting it could reach approximately $100 billion within five years. Stablecoins are becoming increasingly central to market liquidity, with data from CEX.IO showing they accounted for 75% of cryptocurrency market volume in the first quarter of 2026.
