Solvex bankruptcy leaves over 1,000 Slovak travelers with insurance claims
Travel agency Solvex declared payment inability on 20 July 2026, affecting more than 1,000 clients. The insurer Colonnade Insurance reports that 615 customers were abroad at the time and were repatriated from Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Albania and Cyprus. The insurance policy covering Solvex’s insolvency provides a sum of €2.55 million for the period 1 June 2026 – 31 May 2027. Claims will be assessed within six months of the event. Marketing specialist Klaudia Sopková said the number of affected clients is “significantly higher than the original estimates of CK Solvex.” Director of claims Viktória Piatková noted that assistance began “within an hour of the insolvency announcement” and that the insurer is warning claimants to submit complete documentation to avoid delays.
