Solvex travel agency bankruptcy leads to insurance claims for over 1,000 Slovak travelers

The Slovak travel agency Solvex declared payment incapacity, affecting more than 1,000 customers who had booked holidays. The insurer Colonnade Insurance is handling the fallout, with a coverage sum of €2.55 million for the period 1 June 2026 – 31 May 2027.

Repatriation was organised for 615 clients who were abroad at the time of the collapse, returning them from Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Albania and Cyprus. According to Colonnade’s director of claims liquidation, Viktória Piatková, all affected travelers are now safely back in Slovakia and the insurer continues to process claims, expecting the final number of claimants to rise above earlier estimates.

Colonnade’s marketing specialist Klaudia Sopková noted that the insurer is reviewing applications over a six‑month window and will determine the total payout after all valid claims are verified.
