Soma Hajnóczy performs mentalism demonstration for László Krasznahorkai

Two-time world magic champion Soma Hajnóczy performed a mentalism demonstration for Nobel laureate László Krasznahorkai as part of his video series ‘Ez nem kameratrükk’. The event, recorded at the Szabó Ervin Library, involved Hajnóczy using various techniques to influence the author’s choices.

During the performance, Krasznahorkai was asked to select one person from a group of 25 famous Hungarians whom he might write a book about. He chose chess legend Judit Polgár. Following this, Krasznócai was asked to imagine a word from a book about Polgár; when he opened his eyes, Polgár was seated across from him. The illusion concluded with Hajnóczy and Polgár correctly identifying the author’s chosen word, ‘World’ (Világ).
