Sombr and 5 Seconds of Summer Perform Together at Lollapalooza 2026

During the opening night of Lollapalooza 2026 in Chicago’s Grant Park, pop artist Sombr surprised the massive crowd by bringing out Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer. The two acts performed a joint rendition of the band’s 2014 hit “She Looks So Perfect,” with Sombr introducing the group as “the greatest band in the fucking world.”

The festival also featured a string of high‑profile collaborations. New Zealand star Lorde headlined the night and invited Charli XCX onstage for a duet of “Girl, So Confusing.” Later, alternative rock veterans The Smashing Pumpkins took the Bud Light Stage, joined by Olivia Rodrigo, Yungblud and former touring bassist Melissa Auf der Maur for several songs. The event showcased a diverse lineup spanning pop, rock, K‑pop and hip‑hop, with more than 100 artists scheduled across eight stages throughout the week.

Sombr’s set included new singles “My Body Isn’t Ready,” “Homewrecker,” and “Potential,” and the surprise performance marked a public reconciliation after earlier speculation of tension between Sombr and 5 Seconds of Summer. The festival continues to draw large audiences and will run through the weekend with additional headliners such as John Summit, JENNIE, and Tate McRae.
