Somers restaurant manager charged in golf club theft and burglary

David Chung, a 37-year-old restaurant manager at Somers National Golf Club, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a series of thefts and a burglary in Westchester County. The New York State Police allege that the incidents occurred between July 25 and July 30, 2026.

The investigation identified three distinct phases of criminal activity. First, Chung allegedly collected $4,800 from two individuals under the false pretense that the funds were required to repair property damage. This was followed by the disappearance of approximately $12,000 in business proceeds. Finally, Chung is accused of forcibly entering the clubhouse during the early morning hours of July 30 to steal more than $2,600 in cash and checks, along with golf equipment valued at roughly $9,500.

Chung faces charges including second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree grand larceny. Bail has been set at $15,000 cash, $30,000 bond, or a $60,000 partially secured bond.
