Somerset announces major entertainment and tourism developments

Somerset is seeing significant developments in its tourism and entertainment sectors. Somerset Council has approved a major redevelopment of the Unity Beach Holiday Park in Brean. The project involves modernizing the existing RJ's entertainment complex and constructing a new 1,100-capacity theatre showbar to replace the current bowling and arcade building. The upgraded facilities will include a redesigned entertainment center with a new arcade, ten-pin bowling, a dedicated children's area, and additional dining options.

In a separate initiative, Somerset County Cricket Club has partnered with Full Fat 360 to launch ‘Somerset Sounds’. Scheduled to debut in summer 2027, this annual summer concert festival will be held at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. The project aims to establish the venue as a primary destination for international touring acts, utilizing the cricket ground's outfield for large-scale outdoor performances and supporting them with a new fan village and premium hospitality services.
