Somerset West and Summer Starlet secure major racing victories

In recent horse racing results, Somerset West secured an upset victory in the Grade 2, $1.5 million Music City Stakes at Kentucky Downs. Ridden by Luis Sáez and trained by John Sadler, the three-year-old filly won the 6 1/2-furlong turf sprint on firm turf, narrowly defeating Lion Lake in a photo finish.

At Saratoga, Summer Starlet won the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes, maintaining a perfect 2-for-2 record. Trained by Steve Asmussen and ridden by Ricardo Santana Jr., the two-year-old filly won by open lengths. The victory serves as a ‘Win and You’re In’ qualifier for the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
