Somerton announces community event calendar for 2026-2027

The city of Somerton, Arizona, has announced a schedule of 11 special community events spanning from October 2026 to July 2027. Presented by Stephanie Pereda of the Department of Parks and Recreation, the program includes traditional festivals, family celebrations, and cultural activities designed to increase community participation.

Key highlights include the Somerton Arts Festival, which will move from Centennial Park to Council Avenue Park to accommodate growing attendance. Other scheduled events include the UTV Off-Road Show on Main Street on October 17, which may incorporate the Bacanora Fest. This addition aims to foster collaboration with Rosario Tesopaco, Sonora, a designated Sister City of Somerton.

The new calendar also introduces the Miss Somerton pageant as a new community attraction while maintaining established local traditions.
