Somkiat Chantra renews with Honda HRC for WorldSBK 2027

Honda HRC has officially announced a contract extension for Thai rider Somkiat Chantra, securing his place in the WorldSBK lineup through the 2027 season. Chantra will continue to compete alongside British rider Jake Dixon, maintaining the team's established pairing.

Honda HRC General Manager Taichi Honda cited Chantra’s positive attitude and significant development potential as key reasons for the renewal. The team aims to leverage continuity to accelerate growth for both riders and engineers.

Chantra has recently sought to improve his WorldSBK performance by applying technical insights gained from a recent MotoGP appearance at Motegi, where he filled in for the injured Joan Mir. The rider noted that experimenting with electronics during his MotoGP stint has provided valuable data to implement in the World Superbike category, particularly as he works with Dixon to refine bike setups and electronic configurations.
