Sommer auf Asphalt film to premiere on German television

The German television channel Das Erste is broadcasting the tragicomedy ‘Sommer auf Asphalt’ (2026) during its prime-time ‘FilmMittwoch’ slot. The film, which previously had a preview on ARTE, is also available via the ARD Mediathek.

The story follows Les (played by Mala Emde), a courier driver who highly values her independence. Her life is disrupted by an unplanned pregnancy and the unexpected arrival of her father, Bert (played by Christoph Maria Herbst), with whom she has a strained relationship. After Les suffers a serious accident while working, Bert takes over her job as a courier.
