Son charged with murder of mother Theresa Jones in Fullerton

Theresa Jones, 61, was reported missing on July 4 after failing to pick up a grandchild in Fullerton, California. Her son, 23‑year‑old Emmanuel Wesley, was later charged with murder after surveillance footage showed him shooting his mother twice in the back while she sat in her car outside the Fullerton Police Department, moving her body into the passenger seat and driving away. The vehicle was found four days later in a church parking lot, and investigators confirmed the two gunshot wounds. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer called the killing “a level of depravity” and said officials would pursue justice for Jones and her family.
