Son Hai beach cleanup in Khanh Hoa collects 625kg of waste

More than 250 volunteers, including officials, staff, and youth, participated in the “S-Step Footprints – Creating Blue Seas” program at Son Hai beach in Khanh Hoa province on October 24. The event combined a 2.5km coastal run with a large-scale environmental cleanup.

Participants collected and sorted over 625kg of waste, which was then transferred to professional processing units. The initiative was organized by the Green Vietnam Community in coordination with the Phuoc Dinh Commune People's Committee and Viet Uc Seafood Group to mark World Sustainability Day.

In addition to the cleanup, organizers provided funding to the local government to equip public areas with new trash bins. Local officials emphasized that protecting the marine environment is vital for the region's aquaculture activities and the livelihoods of residents.
