Son Ho-young marks 20th solo anniversary with new music and concert

Singer Son Ho-young, a member of the legendary K-pop group g.o.d, is releasing his first solo single in approximately five years, titled ‘Go Around’. The release marks the 20th anniversary of his solo debut.

To celebrate, Son will hold his first solo concert in five years, titled ‘HORIZON’, on October 31 and November 1 at the KBS Arena in Seoul. Reflecting on his two-decade solo career, Son noted a shift in his perspective, moving from a belief that intense effort could fix any obstacle to a more patient approach to his craft.

In discussing the evolution of the music industry, Son observed that modern K-pop has become increasingly polished and detailed. While he finds the precision of contemporary idols impressive, he expressed concern that the industry’s pursuit of perfection may leave less room for the types of human flaws and gaps that he believes contributed to the unique appeal and strong bond of his own group, g.o.d.
