Son Ye-jin stars in new Netflix K-drama ‘The Scandal’

The Netflix K-drama ‘The Scandal’ is set to premiere on September 18, 2026. Starring Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, and Nana, the eight-episode period romance is set during the Joseon era.

Based on the French novel ‘Les Liaisons dangereuses’ by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, the series follows Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin), an intelligent woman who engages in a dangerous game of seduction and manipulation with the playboy Cho Won (Ji Chang-wook). Their high-stakes wager involves Hui-yeon (Nana), a young widow caught in their romantic power play.

The production, directed by Jung Ji-woo, has received a ‘19+’ rating from the Korea Media Rating Board (KMRB). This classification reflects the show's mature themes involving power struggles and sexual politics within high society, rather than strictly depicting nudity or violence.
