Sonaguera: Missing three-year-old girl found safe

Three-year-old Reina Danesy Erazo Aguilar has been found safe and sound in a mountainous area of the Juan Lázaro village in Sonaguera, Colón, following an intensive search operation.

The child had been reported missing since approximately 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, after she reportedly wandered away from her home while looking for water. The disappearance prompted a large-scale mobilization involving family members, local residents, volunteers, and security forces.

A dog named ‘Guardián’, who had also gone missing alongside the child, played a decisive role in the rescue. The animal returned to the search party, leading rescuers toward the area where the girl was eventually located playing by a riverbank. Authorities are expected to investigate the exact circumstances of her disappearance and how she reached the location where she was found.
