Sonbhadra officials urge banks to increase loan distribution

Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi presided over a District Level Bankers Committee meeting in Sonbhadra to review the progress of various government-sponsored schemes and the Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio.

During the review, Awasthi directed that letters be sent to the controlling offices of banks with a CD ratio below the district average of 46 percent, as well as to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC). The objective is to increase loan distribution to meet the prescribed standard of 60 percent.

The meeting also addressed the pendency of applications for several schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana, One District One Product (ODOP), and PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Banks were instructed not to keep any application pending at the branch level for more than 15 days. The Lead District Manager emphasized that loan details must be updated on portals immediately following distribution to ensure accurate progress reporting on the CM Dashboard.
