Sondrio police issue expulsion order for serial supermarket thief

The Police Commissioner of Sondrio has issued a compulsory expulsion order (foglio di via obbligatorio) against a 29-year-old Romanian national responsible for a series of thefts at supermarkets across the province.

The most recent incident involved aggravated theft committed in conspiracy with others. During a check by the Carabinieri in a parking lot in the province of Lecco, authorities discovered food items and printer cartridges hidden in a vehicle. The stolen goods, valued at over 3,000 euros, were confirmed to have been taken from supermarkets in Sondrio.

The individual, who has a history of similar aggravated thefts in the Sondrio and Bergamo areas, has been reported to the judicial authorities. As part of the preventive measures, he is prohibited from returning to the municipality of Piantedo for one year. Violating this order carries potential penalties of six to eighteen months of imprisonment and fines up to 10,000 euros.
