Sondrio to install traffic lights on via V Alpini to improve safety

The administration in Sondrio has announced plans to improve road safety on via V Alpini through the installation of a dual traffic light system at the Colda location. The project, estimated to cost 30,000 euros, will include signals for both vehicles and pedestrians, as well as acoustic signals for the visually impaired and illuminated pedestrian crossings.

This intervention follows a series of 16 accidents recorded on the road since 2022. The intersection is currently managed by a stop sign and a convex mirror, but the narrow roadway and steep slopes have contributed to its status as a high-risk zone. Implementation is pending the acquisition of necessary funds.
