Soneium and DayOneDream partner to tokenize K-pop revenue
Soneium, an Ethereum layer 2 blockchain developed by Sony Group and Startale Group, has partnered with South Korean entertainment company DayOneDream to tokenize K-pop intellectual property (IP) as onchain assets.
The collaboration utilizes DayOneDream’s tokenization platform, WAVIST, to provide eligible users with tokenized exposure to revenue generated from concerts, streaming, and music rights. This initiative aims to create new funding sources for rights holders while allowing fans to share in the economic value of the artists they follow.
DayOneDream manages several artists, including BTOB, Lee Chae Yeon, MeMi, and 2F. The companies announced the deal during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul. The partnership follows a previous successful cycle in May, where WAVIST completed the issuance, redemption, and burning of a tokenized bond used to finance K-pop IP.
